Interior moodboards & colour schemes are invaluable when it comes to finding that right combination of materials, textures and colours. We design our colour schemes and combine them with specified products. We have found this works really well when seeing the articles against the backdrop of the chosen colours.
Choosing the correct type of paint can be a complex task and brings together a myriad of problems. Flat, Gloss, semi flat etc it can all become a blur to make the right choice.
Below are three of the main companies we specify paint colours from.
Farrow & Ball: www.farrow-ball.com Dulux Paints: www.dulux.co.uk/index.jsp Fired Earth: www.firedearth.com/paint
When designing your colour scheme & moodboard i’ts important to imagine how the interiors are going to look at different stages of the day or night. Artificial light will affect the balance of colour and light within the room and project cool or warm tones depending on the frequency of the light source. Daylight also subtracts from as well as enhances your chosen scheme; it’s all about finding the right balance.
Bright zingy colours are all the rage at the moment, have a think about introducing some sunshine colours into your interior scheme..
New contemporary German kitchen design incorporating natural whites & warm taupes against fresh colours like Lime, Lemon, Raspberry, Strawberry.
Finding the right balance of colours can be broken down into percentages of 10% accessories, 30% high tone items, 60% overall base scheme. These seem to work well however I use different calculations depending on the type or age of the property.
Moodboards are a quick and simple way to help identify the relationship between shapes, textures and colours & enable you to see specified products together.
They are a great way to develop the vision for your finished interior.
Shown here is an example of one of our moodboards with products and samples. The compiled information is emailed over direct to the customer or live samples are presented during meetings & consultations for further discussions or specifying.
